Pre-Cut Bunion Tape — Taping, Without the Guesswork

Physiotherapists have taped bunions for years. The tape is cheap. The problem is cutting it: the shape has to follow the toe and anchor along the foot, and a badly cut strip lifts inside a shoe within an hour.

These strips arrive already cut to the shape of the foot. You peel and place.

What taping does

The strip wraps the big toe and anchors along the inside of the foot, giving the toe a gentle pull away from its neighbour while you walk. Because it stretches with the foot, it keeps working through the day instead of locking the joint the way a rigid splint does.

Flat and skin-coloured, so it disappears under socks and inside shoes — the difference from a night splint, which you can only wear in bed.

How to use it

  1. Clean, dry skin. No lotion, or it will not hold.
  2. Anchor at the toe, smooth along the inside of the foot.
  3. Wear up to 24 hours. Remove in the shower, when the adhesive softens.

Honest about what it does

Tape supports the position of the toe while it is on. It does not straighten the joint permanently and it does not replace a podiatrist. Many people use it for the walking day, the shift, the wedding, the holiday — the situations where the shoe is not negotiable.

Stop if the skin turns red or sore, and do not use it on broken skin or on top of a blister.

Questions we get

Can I wear shoes over it? Yes. That is the point of tape instead of a splint.

Will it hurt to remove? Take it off in the shower and peel slowly along the skin, not upwards.

How many do I need? Most people use one strip per day per foot on the days they are on their feet.
